Iron bound canteens were wooden canteens with iron bands, constructed similar to barrels, however with a volume of one-half to about one gallon.
The cloth tent was almost certainly canvas. The tent may have been of the Marquee style for use by the supply train captain as an office and place to conduct business while at the rendezvous. However, the only tents shown by Alfred Jacob Miller in any of his illustrations are wedge style tents.
